Land Acknowledgment

Yale University acknowledges that indigenous peoples and nations, including Mohegan,Mashantucket Pequot, Eastern Pequot, Schaghticoke, Golden Hill Paugussett, Niantic, and the Quinnipiac and other Algonquian speaking peoples, have stewarded through generations the lands and waterways of what is now the state of Connecticut. We honor and respect the enduring relationship that exists between these peoples and nations and this land.
History
Founded in 1968 by students of the Yale School of Drama, Yale Cabaret has long served as a space for artistic risk-taking and creative exploration. Located at 217 Park Street in the basement of a former fraternity house, the Cabaret offers an intimate performance experience that blends theatre with food and drink. Entirely student-run, the Cabaret reinvents itself each season under new leadership, presenting a wide range of performances—from plays and musicals to dance and comedy. Over the decades, it has remained a vital part of both the Yale and New Haven arts communities, adapting to change while continuing to champion original work and conversation.
The Theatre
The Yale Cabaret is an intimate 100–seat black box theatre that transforms with each production. With flexible configurations—from traditional seating to theatre in the round—the Cab reimagines itself for every show, creating a space where audiences are never far from the performance.
Connected directly to the Cabaret Garden, our space extends beyond the walls of the theatre, offering opportunities for outdoor gatherings, performances, and community events. Whether indoors or under the open sky, the Cab fosters a vibrant atmosphere of connection, experimentation, and play.
