In response to Our 42nd Season ...
Sean says...
Oh, and re: Normal again; the girlfriend was in my view the most impressive (though the other two were outstanding). How do you capture such vaccuousness, that dissociative void behind the eyes? I've seen it before in trauma victims - she nailed it; speaking volumes with a feather-touch of libretto. Blown away.
Sean says...
'Normal' was brilliant, and brutal, and clever. Acting was spot-on. Loved the breaking down of walls between lawyer and sadist; then writer had a go at the audiance. As we contemplate whether to accept the possibility of latent nasties in the lawyer, we reveal the same in ourselves. When girlfriend 'refuses' to die. There is a moment of annoyance, of "just die already", then uncomfortable laughter. And in a moment, we are one with the killer. Nasty trick. On everyone else of course, not me ; )
ChrisAD says...
@eileen ... the language he was speaking was made up :)
Eileen says...
Yes Chirs, another question! What language was Kevin speaking in El Hablador? Was it made up, or was it Swaheli? I just have to know. Thanks!
Suzanne says...
Dear Cabaret: Kevin Daniel’s El Hablador, both the work and performance, were one of those extraordinary occasions where you feel blessed to have been one of the lucky few to have seen it. It was an exquisitely perfect theatrical experience and a great way to kickoff the season. –Suzanne

It was a great idea to explore the Cuba's struggle for freedom in a play. Thanks for ´The Surrender Tree´. Amazing play, beautiful and exploratory acting.

since the school of drama doesn't seem to desire to advertise the second year new plays on their homepage, GO SEE THE DROLL!!! http://drama.yale.edu/onstage/0910studioseries/thedroll.html

No, you aren't being dumb. :) Our address is: 217 Park St. New Haven, CT 06511 It's located between Chapel and Edgewood. It IS hard to find on the website. I think it's buried somewhere in ticketing. Sorry for the difficulty! Hope to see you soon!
Alison says...
Where can I find your address on your website? Am I just being dumb?

‘Alter Egos’ was a complete and agreeable surprise. Thanks Rachel Spencer for presenting us with your creativity and energy in the “Portraits Untitled”. Thanks Brian Lockwood for bringing a play with the Mental Institutions and the gay subjects (The Fallout of Pearl Harbor). Both of you are extremely talented in writing and performing. I have to congratulate both of you for putting together a play in about a month of work.
Reggie Solomon says...
Definitely looking forward to the new season. Yale Cabaret is awesome!

if you see misogyny in the logo, put on your smart-person glasses, and see it for what it really is: beauty on fire! that's not misogyny - that's what life should be!
ChrisAD says...
There is a link to a map and directions under "Theatre Policies" on the Box Office website -- and there are also directions on the Box Office voicemail. And we're also happy to give directions if you call us!
toosinbeymen says...
Why doesn't the site include directions or a map to the theater? I can figure it out but why not make it easy on potential fans.
JenD says...
I find your logo to be slightly misogynistic. Anyone else?
susanf says...
